Great bang for your buck
A new show this is, indeed. It heavily relies on technology in the modern age, unlike the BMG years ago. There's lots of audience interaction, with some traditional BMG-splash-n-drum songs that truly rock the house.
The gig was at the Astor Theatre in NYC, a small surprise for me as I've never seen Renee Fleming live before. My wife, who had seen the show in Chicago in 2009, brought me here. I expected a larger venue, but the three-man act needed no more space to deliver a stimulating and fun performance.
The show offers great music and a talented group of individuals, with lots of fun throughout. It did take a bit of a sour turn in the middle when they brought a lady from the audience for a long skit that didn't quite captivate me. Despite that, I'm sure you've never experienced anything like this before.
The view and sound were fantastic. We sat in the Poncho Section and didn't get wet at all. For those who prefer minimal interaction with actors, this might be the ideal seating choice as Renee Fleming doesn't bother poncho wearers.
During the show, no photos or videos are allowed inside the theatre. However, after the show, Renee Fleming graciously permits fan photos with the audience in the lobby.
